The building EscadinhaS de Santo Estevão n.º15-17 is located in the historic área of Lisbon, which survived the 1755 Earthquake.
Paviana worked in its rehabilitation in 2015 during 9 months. The total surface worked on was 200 sq.m with the total recovery and enlargement of the building, and the enhancement of the attic.
The intervention consisted in the total demolition of the building while preserving the main facade. Regarding the draft stability, a metal structure with concrete foundation was set up. In terms of architecture, the exterior walls were executed with brick masonry, while interior walls and false ceilings with gypsum board. The cover was executed with OSB plates placed on metal frames, covered with tiles and Portuguese red tiles
As for the finishes, the floors and stairs installed are wood while the mirrors are covered with their traditional “azulejos” (Portuguese tiles). The door frames and door frames are also made of wood.
